Things are good. We had friends over last night for dinner. We went to the market on Saturday and got lots of fruits and veggies at outdoor stands.

DeleteThere's a Korzo!!! A Korzo is where a lot of people and pigeons walk(and poop)!

Alison,
ReplyDeleteDo the pre-teens your age listen to the same music?
Honestly, I don't pay much attention to them, but I bet so.
DeleteAlison

DeleteBy the way, wish Poppa a happy birthday!we miss you both!
DeleteCaroline,
ReplyDeleteHave you had a chance to play with any other

Hi there! It's Aunt Kathryn. What's your favorite place you've visited so far in Croatia?
ReplyDeleteI would say Krmed, the little town in Istria because it reminds me of home.
DeleteAlison
Wow, Croatian names have a lot of consonants in them! What about Krmed reminds you of home?
DeleteAunt Kathryn
It's small and quiet, plus there's grass!
DeleteThat sounds very nice. Have you seen any turrets in Croatia?
DeleteAunt Kathryn
Only one! I miss my dream house!
DeleteI miss you!
I miss you and I miss Caroline, too! I can't wait to visit you! : )
DeleteUs too!
DeleteDid you know that gas costs more than 6 dollars a gallon in Croatia?

Hi Alison!
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of questions but we'll start with these.
- Do many people in Croatia speak and/or understand English?
- How is your Croatian coming?
- How are your guitar lessons? It's so cool that you're getting to do this IN CROATIA!!
It's such fun to get to do this with you!! : )
Love,
Grandma and Grandpa
Hi,
DeleteSome do understand English, but not everyone.
Our Croatian skills are limited, but we bought dictionary books to help. My guitar lessons are so much fun! It is so nice to be playing an instrument again.
Grandma, I hope you are feeling better.
Alison
Hi again -
DeleteI AM feeling better. Thanks for asking.
We miss you and are really looking forward to seeing you. By the time we get to Rijeka, all of you will probably be amazing tour guides. We can't wait!!!
Love,
Grandma
We can't wait either!
DeleteHow warm is it in Croatia?
ReplyDeleteIt's been in the 60's!
DeleteLaura
WOW. That must be a switch from winter in Potsdam, huh? It's only been in the 50s in California. (Okay, today it's supposed to be in the 70s, but that's not typical!)
DeleteHave things been blooming there since it's so warm?
Kathryn
We have seen some flowers.
DeleteWhat else do you guys want to know about Croatia?
ReplyDeleteDo they drive-thru restaurants in Croatia?
ReplyDeleteSTOP DAD!
DeleteBut no there isn't.
DeleteIs there Chinese food? If so, have you tried it?
ReplyDeleteSTOP IT! But yes we have!
DeleteWhat has been your favorite new food so far in Croatia?
ReplyDeletePastries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteFrom all of us!
Yummmm! What kind of pastries??
DeleteCherry, cheese, everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteHow do you get around in Croatia? Do you have a car?
ReplyDeleteNo, but we take cabs, and buses.
DeleteLaura,
ReplyDeleteHow often do you have a class to teach? Do you go to work at
the University every day?
Hi Judy,
DeleteMy classes start this week! I'll be teaching two classes, each once a week. One will be for 3rd year undergraduates, and one will be for master's students.
